Vintage General Quick-aid Brass Fire Extinguisher - Chris-craft- 1952-1955 on 2040-parts.com
Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States
This is an empty vintage brass fire extinguisher made
by the General Fire Extinguisher Co. and it is model 85HD. It is the 1
qt. size and is about 14" long and comes with it's original mounting
bracket which has a new coat of maroon paint. It has been polished
and lacquered and as you can see in the pictures, it displays very
well. Someone did a lot of work on the website "vintagefe" and that
site states that General fire extinguishers were featured in Chris-Craft
accessories from 1937 to 1960. This would be the correct extinguisher
for a 1949 - 1952 Chris-Craft boat. The extinguisher has 1 small dent on the label which will not show up in the pictures and just 2 small dings at the backside at the bottom. The T pump handle moves in and out as designed. The brass label retains very little of it's original paint. The would make a great addition to a
collection or mounted on a vintage boat, car, or truck. Please check
out my other vintage fire extinguishers I have listed.

Top Gear Tonight: Ferrari F12, BAC Mono, Ron Howard & the world’s best taxi
Sun, 07 Jul 2013Jeremy drives the BAC Mono (pictured) in tonight’s Top Gear Tonight’s second episode of series 20 of Top Gear gets back to the usual format. The new reasonably priced car is in action for the first time as film director Ron Howard – who’s just done Rush, which chronicles the rivalry between James Hunt and Niki Lauder during the 1976 F1 season – gets behind the wheel of the Vauxhall Astra to set a lap, talk about cars and his new film. Jeremy Clarkson gets to play with the stunning Ferrari F12 Berlinetta, which with 731bhp, 0-62mph of just 3.1 seconds and a top speed of 211mph should induce more than a grin or two from Jezza as he takes to the roads of Scotland.
Fun with fiberglass: Petersen exhibit celebrates moldable material
Fri, 26 Feb 2010To be an artisan in aluminum or the Stradivarius of steel, you need about 40 years as an apprentice working metal with pinchers and pullers and to spend a lot of time rolling sheets back and forth through an English wheel. To make something out of fiberglass, all you need is resin. The Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles is celebrating all things fiberglass--especially the cars--with an exhibit that runs through Oct.
Mercedes S-Class Maybach spied (video)
Thu, 21 Aug 2014The Mercedes S-Class Maybach hits the Nurburgring The new Mercedes S-Class is already starting to proliferate, with a wide range of engines, two wheelbases and the CL Coupe’s replacement – the new S-Class Coupe – already hitting the market. But Mercedes are far from finished extending the S-Class franchise, and we’ve got two more versions of the S-Class Saloon – the Maybach and Pullman – still to come, and the arrival of the S-Class Convertible still to come. And now it looks like the S-Class Maybach – effectively a replacement for the ill-fated Maybach brand – is getting closer to debut with this S-Class Maybach spotted testing at the Nurburgring.
