Vintage General Quick-aid Brass Fire Extinguisher With Bracket on 2040-parts.com
Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States
This
is an empty vintage brass fire extinguisher made
by the General Fire Extinguisher Co. and it is model 85HD. It is the 1
qt. size and is about 14" long and comes with it's original mounting
bracket which has a new coat of maroon paint. It has been polished
and lacquered and as you can see in the pictures, it displays very
well. Someone did a lot of work on the website "vintagefe" and that
site states that General fire extinguishers were featured in Chris-Craft
accessories from 1937 to 1960. This would be the correct extinguisher
for a 1954 - 1958 Chris-Craft boat. The extinguisher has NO dents and NO dings. The T pump handle has a new coat of brass tone paint as when new and it moves in and out
as designed. The brass label retains nearly
all of it's original paint, not bad for something over 60+ years old.
This would make a great addition to a
collection or mounted on a vintage boat, car, or truck. Please check
out my other vintage fire extinguishers I have listed.

GM continues work on fuel-saving engine technology
Wed, 20 May 2009Sometime in the next decade, you might be able to enjoy some of the benefits of a diesel without driving one. A technology called HCCI improves fuel economy 15 percent and releases fewer emissions by using a combustion process similar to what is used in diesel powerplants. General Motors continues work on the project, which could be applied across a range of engine sizes and used with other advanced fuel-saving technologies to help the company comply with the proposed new mileage and emissions targets announced Tuesday by President Barack Obama.
Final Bugatti Veyron 16.4 spoken for
Fri, 24 Jun 2011If you've always wanted a new Bugatti, you'll have to settle for the Grand Sport: All 300 cars in the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 model run have found homes, the last one having been ordered by a European customer who will take delivery next autumn. The Veyron came to life in concept form at the Tokyo motor show a year after the Volkswagen Group bought the rights to the Bugatti name in 1998. The Veyron was the first production car to have a full carbon-fiber monocoque, and its 8.0-liter W16 engine produced 1,001 hp and 922 lb-ft of torque, mated to a seven-speed twin-clutch gearbox.
