This is for a copy of a set of plans for a Pietenpol Air-Camper Aircraft designed by B.H. Pietenpol, drawn by O.C. Hoopman, Pietenpol Airplane Company, Spring Valley, Minn.  They are dated from 3-23-1933 to 3-20-1934.  Scale is 1/2" = 1'.  One page is for the Model A Motor Pietenpol Conversion.  There are some stain marks copied from the originals which can be seen in the pictures.   

Faster Gumpert Apollo model to debut in Geneva

They may not be lookers, but there is no denying the performance credentials of Roland Gumpert's Apollo sports cars. With the base 650-hp engine package, the brainchild of the former director of Audi Sport is capable of reaching 60 mph in less than three seconds with a top speed or more than 200 mph. But now Gumpert is planning to reveal a faster chapter in the line at next month's Geneva motor show with the Apollo Speed.

Land Rover Defender to return to U.S.

Land Rover will bring the redesigned Defender SUV to the United States as its entry-level vehicle, said Ralf Speth, CEO of Jaguar Land Rover. The Defender could debut as early as 2015 and will be based on the DC100 concept shown at the 2011 Frankfurt auto show. The rugged Defender is currently sold in overseas markets and was last sold here in 1997.

Mercedes S-Class production increased We’ve reported recently on the strong sales Mercedes is enjoying with the new A-Class (and its swoopy-coupe sibling CLA), but it’s not just Mercedes compact cars that are flying out of showrooms. Mercedes has revealed it’s having to increase production at its plant inĀ Sindelfingen by prolonging shifts by 74 minutes (after increasing them by 30 minutes earlier this year) in order to churn out enough S-Class cars to meet strong demand. But it’s not just the S-Class (as well as the A-Class cars) that are selling strongly, Mercedes are also upping production atĀ Bremen to build more GLK and C-Class models.
