Geneva Motor Show (2010) Preview

Sun, 21 Feb 2010

All the new car releases we expect to see at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show. We’re now getting close to the first major European Motor Show of the year – some would say the most important motor show of the lot – the Geneva Motor Show which kicks off for the press on 2nd March and runs until 14th March. So we thought we ought to do a quick preview of what we already know is going to make an appearence at Geneva so you can know what to look out for as we get more detail, and provide an easy starting point to catch all the car news from the Geneva Show.

Subaru BRZ (2012) - more on FT-86's shy sister

Mon, 26 Sep 2011

Since the joint venture between Toyota and Subaru was announced in 2009, we've seen four concept cars from Toyota of its version, the FT-86/Scion FR-S. But barring some unfortunate-looking Impreza based engineering mules, we've yet to see the Subaru edition. That situation didn't change at the recent 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show, where Subaru once again exhibited the rear-drive platform of what we now know will be called the BRZ with a transparent bodyshell rather than production panels.

Mercedes-Benz, BMW both post record September sales

Wed, 09 Oct 2013

Not only are the German horsepower wars still going strong, but if this next bit of news isn't evidence of German sales wars, then we don't know what is. BMW sold 189,675 vehicles worldwide during the month of September, an increase of 6.7 percent over the previous year, which also made it the best September sales month for the automaker. This comes with a small asterisk -- namely, that figure includes Mini and Rolls-Royce sales, though if we're talking just BMW-badged vehicles, the September sales totaled 158,029 (still a 7.6 percent increase over September of 2012).
