Buick unveiled its 2011 Regal sedan Thursday night at the once-and-future-famous Hollywood Palladium, a new car from an old division being shown at an old dance hall that just got a full renovation. Is there an analogy in there someplace? The Palladium opened its doors with a Tommy Dorsey concert in 1940, at a time when Buicks ruled the road.

The Bentley Continental V8 flies across Munich The Bentley Continental V8 made a dramatic public debut in Munich when it was flown to the SkyLounge for its launch. The plan to debut the new Bentley Continental V8 (apparently we shouldn’t call it the Continental GT V8, just the Continental V8) in Germany in Munich’s SkyLounge might sound like a perfectly reasonable thing to do. After all, every car maker needs a ‘venue’ for a launch to make an impact, and something called the ‘SkyLounge’ sounds like it might make a good backdrop for Bentley’s newest toy.

Quaker State offers cash reward for reaching 300,000 miles with its oil

If you're thinking of driving your car to the 300,000-mile mark, the maker of Quaker State oil will pay you as much as $3,000--as long as you use its oil. The oil brand on Monday launched the Quaker State Cash Back Program as part of its updated limited-warranty program. According to the company, the warranty is one of the first of its kind that follows the vehicle makers' recommendation for oil changes instead of its own.
