Chinese car firm set to expand
Mon, 30 Dec 2013CHINA’S newest car brand, aimed at the luxury end of the booming Chinese car market, is to release a second model to its range. Among the manufacturer’s claims are that the new car will boast European levels of materials quality, as well as advanced technology like an eight-inch touch-screen display and a Cloud-based infotainment system.
Aston Martin Rapide coming home
Tue, 07 Jun 2011Aston Martin Rapide - homeward bound It took Aston Martin what seemed like forever to get their four-door supercar – the Aston Martin Rapide – in to production, and even then they didn’t build it themselves. But the new economic reality bit in 2008 and sales fell at Aston Martin, but by then the plan to get the Rapide built at Magna Steyr in Austria was unstoppable so, despite Aston Martin workers twiddling their thumbs as Magna Steyr built Rapides, there as nothing to be done.
IFR Aspid strikes Spanish gold
Fri, 08 Aug 2008By Tom Richards Motor Industry 08 August 2008 13:32 More than 100 potential IFR Aspid customers have signed up for a two-day test drive following the new two-seater sports car's unveiling at the London motor show last month. Now the Spanish manufacturer is seeking to create an international dealer network. The Aspid has been in secret development for five years, with IFR working hard on making it relevant to the needs to the 21st century. Although there are no definite CO2 figures, a kerbweight of 700kg means the Aspid should be capable 56.4mpg, they say. The chassis and suspension are aluminium, while the bodywork is carbonfibre and the brakes are made from stainless steel. Definitely.
