After a first day packed with fascinating discussions and opportunities for networking, delegates from around the world reconvened in anticipation of another day of presentations from some of the industry's biggest names. Session 5: Deep Dive Luxury The second day of the Interior Motives China conference began with a session on 'Deep dive luxury', chaired by Emma Booty of Conran. GM ride-and-drive event puts interns behind the wheel

Interns here at AutoWeek are fortunate enough to be in and out of all sorts of cars, from the little Fiat 500 to the phenomenal Lexus LFA. But rarely do we get our own event like the Intern Ride and Drive hosted by General Motors in downtown Detroit on Friday. The event, set up and run by GM's own interns, involved summer help from local broadcast-media outlets, newspapers and many Detroit-area automotive publications.

Toyota recalls Highlander and Lexus hybrids, IS and GS sedans

Toyota announced two recalls on Wednesday that include 369,000 vehicles worldwide, 235,000 of which are in the United States. The hybrids have a problem with a transistor, while the 3.5-liter V6 is having problems with its variable valve timing control device. The first recall includes Highlander Hybrid models from 2006-2010 and the Lexus RX 400h from 2006-2008.
