Wiscasset, Maine, United States
Condition:Used

This antique automotive supply rack was used for displaying electrical automotive wire and wiper hose for the early "vacuum" type wiper systems. I believe this display rack goes back to the early 1950's and possibly earlier. The rack came out of Bennett Chevrolet in Gardiner Maine and I purchased it along with a lot of their equipment when the dealership closed in the early 1970's. It is in very nice condition as the pictures show. I did not clean the rack for the photos. I just placed it on the box and took the pictures. The measurements are 22" long x 14" high x 10" deep. The stand is made of heavy gauge metal with a zinc or galvanized finish. I am estimating the shipping but will check as the box is large. Shipped with full insurance.

Ford's forgotten T-Drive program

According to Drivingenthusiast.com, “T-drive is a system consisting of a transversally located inline engine, a transmission and associated packaging.” The transmission is mounted to the side of the engine, or the back, depending on how you look at things.

CAR tech: Audi's miracle e-fuel (2013)

Mon, 29 Jul 2013

Global warming; sky-high oil prices as reserves peak; spiralling crop prices and intense pressure to find fertile land – society faces immense challenges, as it strives to protect the planet and keep our cars on the move. Audi is working on a miracle fuel that could help mitigate these problems, in a facility under construction in the uncompromising, scorching environment of New Mexico, USA.  Not content with having a range more diverse than London’s World Pride parade, Audi is moving into the fuels business, in partnership with US biotech firm Joule Unlimited. The pair are developing carbon-neutral synthetic fuels, called e-fuels in keeping with Audi’s E-tron eco brand.
