1968 -72 Oldsmobile Cutlass Power Trunk Release, complete with button, full wiring harness, and trunk release with solenoid.  There are some blue electrical crimp connectors on the wire, but the wire does not appear to be cut.  The button bracket has one broken corner (see close up).  Removed from a 70 Cutlass long ago, probably also fits big Oldsmobiles and most 68-72 Buicks.  See my Ebay ad with the Buick trunk release if you want to compare.  Starting bid $35 / no reserve.  I do not know if it works (but they usually do).    thanks for looking

Council Street Light Switch Off Policy Challenged

Fri, 04 Jul 2014

THE AA has raised concerns over the practice of turning off street lights at night, saying that councils are "ignoring the findings of road-accident inquests" in their bid to save money. The motoring organisation cited the fact that at least five pedestrians and a cyclist have been killed since 2009 because, according to accident investigators at inquests, drivers had little or no chance of avoiding the collisions on blacked-out roads with speed limits of 40mph or higher. The AA added that although some councils have recognised the danger and turned their street lights back on, others were "ignoring inquest findings".

Runaway ostrich causes traffic chaos

Thu, 16 Jan 2014

Rush hour in the town of Tunbridge Wells took a humorous turn yesterday when a runaway ostrich shot past cars at speeds of over 40mph, with a clear disregard for road conditions, traffic and speed limits. Alarmingly, the rogue bird is still on the run from police and there are fears it could cause carnage in the town centre, as the RSCPA warns fully-grown ostriches max out at around 60mph. On Bing: see pictures of runaway ostriches Cars named after animals If the ostrich were to collide with an individual, its lack of crumple zones means the pedestrian could be badly injured and, as far we’re aware, ostriches are yet to be put through strict Euro NCAP crash tests.

Kia GT at Frankfurt: It WILL go in to production

Tue, 13 Sep 2011

Kia GT at Frankfurt - will be going in to production We’ve been hugely impressed with the way Kia – and sister company Hyundai - has transformed in to a serious player in the car market. And now, having matched the Japanese in the mainstream market Kia, in particular, is looking to take things up a rung or three with the Kia GT. We praised the styling of the Kia GT when we saw the first photo, but we believed it was likely just a design exercise; a sort of ‘Look what we could do if there was a market for it’ kind of statement.
