We reported a bit back that the RX-8 was to make its way to the great scrapyard in the sky, another victim of the increasingly strict Euro emissions regulations - Euro 5 coming in to play in January 2011. So although the RX-8 will continue for now in some parts of the world, production in Hiroshima has ended for the UK and Europe.
White remains new car buyers' top color
Fri, 19 Oct 2012White remains the most popular color of choice for automotive consumers, a trend report has shown, with 22 per cent of all car buyers opting for the color. Transportation coatings manufacturer PPG's annual automotive color popularity and trend data report has, however, forecasted that more vibrant colors are set to increase in popularity. Silver came a close second with 20 per cent of new car buyers opting for it, followed by black (19 per cent), gray (12 per cent), red (9 per cent), natural (8 per cent), blue (7 per cent), green (2 per cent) and other colors (1 per cent).
Roads warning as massive transformer is moved
Thu, 14 Nov 2013ONE OF THE BIGGEST abnormal loads ever transported on the roads will be trundling across the west of England this weekend - at an average speed of 4mph. The giant transformer, measuring almost 330ft long and weighing around 640 tonnes, will travel the 80 miles between Didcot in Oxfordshire and Avonmouth in Bristol. Police warn the trip will affect roads in Wiltshire, Bath and north-east Somerset and south Gloucestershire between 7pm on Friday and 6pm on Sunday.
