Mon, 21 Jan 2013The Batmobile from the 1960s Batman TV series, starring Adam West and Burt Ward, has sold for $4.2 million at auction. For those of us of a certain age, the Batmobile from the original Batman TV series of the 1960s is the only Batmobile, and probably the first time we saw a car being the star of a TV show. Starring Adam West and Burt Ward, the Batman TV series was tongue in cheek and full of on-screen graphics like POW, WHAM and THWACK as Batman and Robin took on the bad guys.
Drink driving deaths UP by 25%
Thu, 17 Oct 2013Drink-drive related road deaths rose by 25% last year, with a staggering one in six fatalities on the UK’s roads connected to alcohol consumption, according to the latest government figures. Department for Transport (DfT) data revealed that 290 people lost their lives through drink-drive crashes during 2012, marking a significant increase from the 230 individuals killed in 2011. BMW will build electric cars in Leipzig
Mon, 22 Feb 2010BMW AG will produce its electric-car range at its plant in Leipzig, Germany, the automaker said on Monday. In addition, BMW factories in Wackersdorf and Landshut, Germany, will produce parts for the so-called Megacity Vehicle. “The BMW Group will build the car of the future in Leipzig with high-tech innovations from Bavaria,” BMW CEO Norbert Reithofer said in a statement.
