At a glamorous awards ceremony at the Espace Clacquesin in Paris earlier this evening, the world's top designers and automotive journalists gathered together to watch sponsors Peugeot and Volkswagen reveal the 2012 Interior Motives Student Design of the Year: ‘Autopool' by Siavash Jafari Jozani and Mina Kasirifar from the University of Tehran. Chrysler posts $239 million operating profit, raises forecast

Chrysler Group posted an operating profit of $239 million in the third quarter and raised its outlook for the balance of the year in anticipation of stronger sales and improved operating performance. The results, released Monday, marked the automaker's third straight operating profit. Chrysler's third-quarter net loss was $84 million, down from $172 million in the second quarter.

Public 'right behind' 20mph urban speed limits

NEARLY 80% of people think 20mph speed limits should be the norm around schools, in residential streets and in village, town and city centres, according to a survey. More than four in five people think traffic travels too fast on local roads, the poll by road safety charity Brake and Allianz Insurance found. Of the 1,000 people surveyed, 78% backed the 20mph campaign run by Brake, with 72% saying roads in their town or village need to be made safer for walking.
