The CitiJet is the madcap brainchild of 16 budding Skoda designers, who were tasked with creating their ideal car out of an existing Skoda model. Effectively, a Citigo Sport has been turned into an open-top city slicker, but don’t ask how the roof closes because there isn’t one.

Featuring adaptive four wheel drive and an electronic limited slip diff., the handling is also aided by a 10mm lower suspension setup than the standard Insignia, and HiPerStrut front suspension which keeps torque steer in check. BMW reveals plans for Efficient Dynamics Mk2

Employing a thermoelectric generator similar in principle to those developed to power satellites will, according to BMW’s head of development Klaus Draeger, boost economy by some 5% on the combined cycle. Expect to see the new Efficient Dynamics tech in showrooms by 2014.
