Aspid tease all new sports car
Wed, 23 May 2012Aspid tease Aspid (which were IFR Aspid) – Spanish sports car maker – is teasing a new sports car to be revealed in the next few weeks. Aspid is a Spanish maker of sports cars responsible for the rather retro – at least in styling – SuperSport model. We caught up with the Aspid SuperSport at Salon Prive a couple of years ago, and we were impressed by a Caterham-style car offering very high levels of fit and finish and a remarkable 0-62mph in under 3 seconds.
Chief engineer of Ford Focus quits to lead German yacht builder
Mon, 12 Jul 2010Jens Ludmann, chief program engineer for Ford Motor Co.'s new Focus, is quitting the automaker to head a German-based maker of luxury yachts. Ludmann led a team at Ford's European base in Merkenich, near Cologne, Germany, that developed the Focus, the first car from CEO Alan Mulally's global One Ford strategy and flagship of the company's new range of global C-segment products. The German native, who joined Ford in 2000, will become CEO of Bavaria Yachtbau GmbH, effective Aug.
McLaren 12C Spider confirmed for July 3 reveal
Fri, 29 Jun 2012McLaren Automotive officially announced on Friday that it will reveal the 12C Spider, an open-top version of the MP4-12C supercar, on July 3. There has been much speculation about an open-top version since the release of the original MP4-12C. In a video interview, McLaren Formula One driver Jenson Button extols the virtues of open-top driving.
