Probably the biggest surprise of the Geneva Motor Show was the arrival of the Lagonda Concept. Although the revival of the Lagonda Marque had been much speculated upon, particularly with Lagonda celebrating its 100 year car making anniversary this year (an all the marketing opportunities that offers) no one had seen a super-luxo SUV on the horizon. Mazda Sets Date For Mx-5 Reveal

THE waiting is nearly over, as Mazda is getting closer to unveiling its next generation MX-5 roadster. 2014 marks the 25th anniversary of the popular compact drop-top, and the Japanese car maker has announced plans to reveal the fourth generation model to an exclusive audience at two special events being held in Spain on 3rd and 4th September. The initial unveiling will take place in Barcelona simultaneously to similar events in Japan and the U.S.

Ford salutes Carroll Shelby with 850-hp GT500 Cobra

The “friends of Carroll Shelby” are saluting the late automotive pioneer with a remarkable, one-off 850-hp GT500 Cobra that was revealed Friday at the Monterey Motorsports Reunion. Ford Motor Co., Shelby American, Ford Racing and others collaborated on the omnipotent machine, styled in the blue and white colors of the legendary Cobras of the 1960s. It gets a wide body kit, high-performance 13-inch-wide rear wheels and a 4.0-liter Ford Racing supercharger that lifts output from the GT500's usual level of 662 hp.
