Riptide SF Saltwater Bow Mount
Arm yourself with the
ultimate weapon against saltwater. The all-new Riptide SF features fewer
moving parts, tighter tolerances, advanced corrosion protection and our
revolutionary new Mono-Arm. You get no-nonsense power, stealth
operation and rugged, reliable performance - everything you need to put
saltwater in its place.
Mono-Arm Design Sometimes, the
simplest solution is best. In this case, it's a revolution. Riptide
SF's innovative Mono-Arm Design features an extruded, anodized aluminum,
structural beam that operates with no metal-to-metal contact and 75%
less torsion. A single hinge point and rear pivot bearing with 20% more
surface area deliver less wear, longer life, and quieter operation than
traditional motor mounts.
Counter-Tension Stabilizer (CTS) CTS
uses an integrated spring that applies force whether the motor's stowed
or deployed. On the water, that translates to a motor with no play, no
give, reduced steering torque and silent operation.
Lift-Assist Riptide
SF's patented Lift-Assist design cuts the weight of stow and deploy in
half, making it as easy as lifting your SUV tailgate. It features a
stainless steel, nitrogen-charged gas spring to get you in and out of
the water with ease.
Removable Bowguard 360° Lifting
the motor and bowguard off of the mount is now even easier on Riptide SF
- just remove a single cap screw. The patented Bowguard 360'™ also
features a dual bearing system that eliminates noise and allows for
improved breakaways from any angle.
Quick-Lock Cam Depth
Adjuster Change depths simply and securely with the Quick-Lock
cam adjuster. It makes depth adjustment simple and locks in tight to
keep your motor right where you want it.
Tilt/Extend Tiller Get
the best of both worlds on your hand control motor with the new
Tilt/Extend Tiller. It can both tilt (up to 45°) and extend (6") to fit
the way you fish.
Push-to-Test Battery Gauge - Riptide SF Get
an instant "state of charge" with this easy-to-read gauge.
Digital
Maximizer Digital Maximizer™ controls and optimizes power to
extend battery life and reduce damaging heat. You'll stay on the water
up to five times longer on a single charge.
Weedless Wedge 2
Prop Push weeds away and take on the thick stuff without
battery-draining chopping and hacking. Weedless Wedge™ 2 features
swept-back, flared blades for unrelenting, reliable prop performance.
Advanced
Corrosion Protection Riptide motors are impervious to
saltwater's corrosive effects, thanks to premium-grade marine alloys and
aluminum upper arms. Metals undergo a rigid multi-step cleaning process
before being anodized or coated with a special zinc dichromate armor
plating. All components are then finished with a durable 5-mil TGIC
polyester, powder coat paint. When it's all done, you're left with
unequaled corrosion protection.
Full Encapsulated Electronics Marine-grade
urethane fully encapsulates Riptide control boards to protect the
electronic circuitry. Also, all electrical connections are sealed with
liquid-tight heat shrink tubing to form an impregnable barrier against
saltwater
Sacrificial Anode Galvanic corrosion occurs
when two dissimilar metals come into electrical contact through
saltwater. Riptide fights back with a patented sacrificial zinc anode, a
composite shaft and properly balanced materials that are close in
electrical potential. The result is a motor that's completely protected
from saltwater's destructive forces.

Car whiplash claim scam caught on video
The whole ‘Cash for Crash’ industry in the UK has got completely out of hand, fuelled not just by dishonest motorists eager for an easy few quid, but by ambulance-chasing lawyers eager to find a claim where there’s not even blame, and stupid insurance companies who sell said lawyers the details of their clients’ collisions. In fact, it does seem car insurance companies are increasingly eager to put obstacles in the way if you object that you weren’t at fault when someone crashes in to you, and would rather settle quickly than spend time, money and resources on fighting spurious claims for you. So the idea of having a dash-cam of some description to keep a record of events is a smart one, and that’s exactly what Smart Witness offers; a dash-cam that takes a 170 degree view from the driver’s perspective and records it to a smart card.

Peugeot EX1 EV Concept - a 'Ring-beater
Peugeot has been busy celebrating its bi-centenary of late (as a company, not just a care maker) and a part of the celebrations of the anniversary was the creation of the Peugeot EX1 EV Concept we saw at the Paris Motor Show.. An EV Concept in this day and age would, you might reasonably expect, be a little less than exciting. Something to run around the centre of town in or a delivery vehicle for urban businesses, perhaps.

Ford will spend $550 million to retool an assembly plant in suburban Detroit to build the redesigned 2011 Ford Focus. Production is to start next year. As part of the overhaul, the plant, known as Michigan Assembly, also will build an electric-powered version of the new Focus.
