Riptide SF
Saltwater Bow Mount

Arm yourself with the ultimate weapon against saltwater. The all-new Riptide SF features fewer moving parts, tighter tolerances, advanced corrosion protection and our revolutionary new Mono-Arm. You get no-nonsense power, stealth operation and rugged, reliable performance - everything you need to put saltwater in its place.

Mono-Arm Design
Sometimes, the simplest solution is best. In this case, it's a revolution. Riptide SF's innovative Mono-Arm Design features an extruded, anodized aluminum, structural beam that operates with no metal-to-metal contact and 75% less torsion. A single hinge point and rear pivot bearing with 20% more surface area deliver less wear, longer life, and quieter operation than traditional motor mounts.

Counter-Tension Stabilizer (CTS)
CTS uses an integrated spring that applies force whether the motor's stowed or deployed. On the water, that translates to a motor with no play, no give, reduced steering torque and silent operation.

Lift-Assist
Riptide SF's patented Lift-Assist design cuts the weight of stow and deploy in half, making it as easy as lifting your SUV tailgate. It features a stainless steel, nitrogen-charged gas spring to get you in and out of the water with ease.

Removable Bowguard 360°
Lifting the motor and bowguard off of the mount is now even easier on Riptide SF - just remove a single cap screw. The patented Bowguard 360'™ also features a dual bearing system that eliminates noise and allows for improved breakaways from any angle.

Quick-Lock Cam Depth Adjuster
Change depths simply and securely with the Quick-Lock cam adjuster. It makes depth adjustment simple and locks in tight to keep your motor right where you want it.

Tilt/Extend Tiller
Get the best of both worlds on your hand control motor with the new Tilt/Extend Tiller. It can both tilt (up to 45°) and extend (6") to fit the way you fish.

Push-to-Test Battery Gauge - Riptide SF
Get an instant "state of charge" with this easy-to-read gauge.

Digital Maximizer
Digital Maximizer™ controls and optimizes power to extend battery life and reduce damaging heat. You'll stay on the water up to five times longer on a single charge.

Weedless Wedge 2 Prop
Push weeds away and take on the thick stuff without battery-draining chopping and hacking. Weedless Wedge™ 2 features swept-back, flared blades for unrelenting, reliable prop performance.

Advanced Corrosion Protection
Riptide motors are impervious to saltwater's corrosive effects, thanks to premium-grade marine alloys and aluminum upper arms. Metals undergo a rigid multi-step cleaning process before being anodized or coated with a special zinc dichromate armor plating. All components are then finished with a durable 5-mil TGIC polyester, powder coat paint. When it's all done, you're left with unequaled corrosion protection.

Full Encapsulated Electronics
Marine-grade urethane fully encapsulates Riptide control boards to protect the electronic circuitry. Also, all electrical connections are sealed with liquid-tight heat shrink tubing to form an impregnable barrier against saltwater

Sacrificial Anode
Galvanic corrosion occurs when two dissimilar metals come into electrical contact through saltwater. Riptide fights back with a patented sacrificial zinc anode, a composite shaft and properly balanced materials that are close in electrical potential. The result is a motor that's completely protected from saltwater's destructive forces.

New 2102 Aston Martin V8 Vantage on video

Sat, 24 Mar 2012

2102 Aston Martin V8 Vantage on video in Paris Having debuted the 2012 Aston Martin V8 Vantage changes for 2012 in February, Aston Martin has now captured the new V8 Vantage on video in Paris. The Aston Martin V8 Vantage promised so much when it first arrived that we couldn’t help being just a little bit disappointed in the new, smaller Aston designed to beat the 911 at its own game. It looked glorious – a given with any Aston Martin – and it sounded wonderful, especially when you gave it its head, but it just didn’t go as well as expected.

Mon, 08 Sep 2014

DOCTORS who work as surgeons are the most likely to make a claim on their car insurance, with 36% of them making an ‘at fault’ claim at some point in their driving history in the past five years. Healthcare professionals do not come out well in the top 10 of drivers most likely to claim on their own insurance, with GP doctors in second place and health visitors in third. The trend continues with hospital consultants in fourth and clinical psychologists in fifth spot and psychotherapists in sixth.

Ford future products: New vehicles get lighter, faster and move upscale

Mon, 29 Aug 2011

Ford Motor Co.'s future-product focus is on improved fuel economy by making its vehicles smaller and engines lighter without sacrificing performance, safety or luxury. It also wants to push the Ford brand more upscale to capture customers orphaned by the shutdown of the Mercury brand, and to attract new buyers with more product offerings. Ford has said 90 percent of its North American nameplates will be available with direct-injection turbocharged EcoBoost engines as standard equipment or as an option by 2013.
