In reality, the EGR valve never opens because it is no longer connected. EGR = Exhaust gas recirculation. This device prevents the engine from re-burning exhaust gases. Hence, the engine is always burning fresh fuel and air, thus making more power. It looks as though Lexus are looking seriously at adding coupes in to their range, at least according to Lexus Product Planning Manager Ben J. Mitchell, who confessed as much in conversation with Inside Line.

It's a product of Merc's Los Angeles design studio, and they prefer to describe it as an 'Ultralight vehicle at one with nature.' The Biome was produced as part of the Los Angeles Design Challenge, taking part alongside the 2010 LA auto show.
