The move aims to goose sales of the luxury roadster two years after it first hit showrooms. The SL400 is powered by Mercedes-Benz's twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 direct-injection gasoline engine unveiled in the E400 early last year.

Dinning, who has been with the Finnish technology giant since 2004, took the decision to leave because of his reluctance to relocate his family from the UK to Finland. Webber ended up beating his team mate by 0.174 seconds to take his first pole of the 2013 F1 season and make this the first time he’s out qualified Vettel this year too. Behind the Red Bull pair, Lewis Hamilton took third place for Mercedes with Romain Grosjean giving Lotus a fourth place on the grid.
