Tue, 09 Aug 2011Lamborghini teased a new ‘Super Sports Car’ for Frankfurt last week, and we mulled over the possibilities of what Lamborghini were going to reveal. But what we didn’t consider was a last-hurrah for the Gallardo in the form of the Lamborghini Gallardo Super Trofeo. We speculated that Lamborghini may be taking a production version of the Sesto Elemento to Frankfurt.
Porsche says Panamera avoids gas-guzzler tax
Thu, 10 Sep 2009Few expenses were spared in conceiving the Porsche Panamera, but consumers will avoid at least one cost of ownership: the ignominious gas-guzzler tax. Porsche has announced ratings for the 2010 sedan; it will get a combined figure of 18 mpg or 19 mpg from the EPA, depending on the model. This means Porsche’s four-door foray will avoid a fairly substantial cost of ownership--a tax of up to $7,700 is levied on the most prolific guzzlers.
Barn Find Lagonda Could Fetch Six Figures at Restoration Show Sale
Tue, 25 Mar 2014IT might not look much, but this extremely rare 1939 Lagonda V12 Hooper two door saloon that has covered just 40,000 miles from new and, crucially, has been estimated to fetch between £75,000 and £100,000 at the forthcoming Restoration Show Sale, at the NEC, Birmingham on April 12th. The unique car was built for the wife of the owner of Hooper Bodies Ltd, the most noted coach builder of the era, and first registered in August 1939. With the onset of war just weeks later the car was placed into storage before being sold to a Mr Harry Ellard in 1952.
