Imre Molnar's lasting legacy
Thu, 03 Jan 2013When I hear people use the words "senseless" or "tragic" to qualify death, the grammarian in me shudders. Concept Car of the Week: Mazda RX500 (1970)
Thu, 30 Jan 2014Developed by the Toyo Kogyo Company's advanced design and engineering team, the Mazda RX-500 was described as a ‘mobile test bed for high-speed safety'. Looking at its design, the team's childlike enthusiasm has shone through, resulting in a very cool concept. Thanks to plastic body panels, the concept weighs only 850kg and is powered by a 491cc rotary engine delivering 247bhp fitted behind the cabin, in front of the rear axle.
A-Roads ‘greatest risk to drivers’
Thu, 24 Oct 2013THE MOST DANGEROUS roads in the UK are A-roads, which are seven times more dangerous than motorways according to new research by the Road Safety Foundation. While 99% of motorways are rated in the "'low risk" category, 97% of single carriageway A-roads are not. The overall risk of death and serious injury on motorways and A-roads is lowest in the West Midlands and highest in the East Midlands, the poll revealed.
