Merry Christmas 2013 from all at Cars UK It’s that time of year when, whatever your beliefs, it’s a great excuse to kick back, relax, enjoy good food and drink and chill. So, even though we run regular car news every other day of the year, we get let off the leash to scatter to family gatherings and forget the travails of reporting the latest car news on Christmas Day. This year, just as we have in many previous years, we bring you Bernie Ecclestone’s take on Christmas 2013, the usual Bernie cartoon take on what’s been his event of the year in F1.

Peugeot puts RCZ designer on Twitter

Like many automakers, Peugeot is now making conspicuous use of social media platforms as a component in its new car launch campaigns and in order to manage customer relations online. For its new RCZ coupe, Peugeot in the UK has been running a social media campaign under the strap line "It chooses you", with associated Twitter and Facebook accounts – which culminated with a member of the public winning an RCZ last week. For auto designers, there was little interest in the campaign up until last week, when Peugeot put RCZ designer Boris Reinmöller behind a computer terminal and opened him up to a public Q+A session through its Twitter account.

Peugeot 208 (2012) first official pictures

This new Peugeot 208 will replace the 207 in 2012. These first official photos of the 208, issued today, reveal a compact supermini which aims to put Peugeot back on the mini map. The 208 will be sold as a three- or five-door - for now - although we'd expect a variety of spin-offs will follow, most likely including a 208 CC folding hard-top and an SW estate.
