The K-6 is a balanced cylinder. The cylinder tube & cylinder ends are made of a 6000 Series aluminum, coated for protection. The rod is polished stainless steel.

Cylinder rated working pressure is 950 PSI. Proof pressure is established at 3985 PSI per SAE J214. Burst pressure is 4530 PSI. Cylinder output force at 950 PSI is 1105 lbs.

These aluminum cylinders are designed for boats up to 38ft. Where the steering loads are less than 10,000 inch-pounds of torque.

The Hynautic K-6 Cylinder fits numerous engines by several different manufacturers.  If you are unable to read the attached list included in the pictures, you can call Teleflex @ 949-379-0500 for an updated list & manual. (The Manual included here has some water damage but is completely legible).

We drove an Audi A6 3.0-litre V6 prototype fitted with an electric bi-turbo system which delivers a massive dose of torque from idle. The effect is radical, firing the saloon off the line like an R8 when the driver floors the throttle.
