FEATURES OF THE SCHAUER SWITCH-MODE BATTERY CHARGER

(JAC SERIES for deep cycle batteries including Gel/AGM)

Note: This charger comes with EZ GO TXT plug connector

  • A completely automatic Schauer charger that is less than 1/3 the size and less than 1/3 the weight of a conventional automatic charger.
  • The 15-amp 48-volt is 8 " x 7 ½" x 6 ½" (inches) and weights 13 pounds.
  • Schauer chargers being solid state will charge a more severely discharged battery than the conventional automatic charger. Typically a conventional automatic charger will not charge a 24-volt battery system with less than 20-volts, a 36-volt battery system with less than 30-volts. This Schauer charger will charge a 48-volt battery that has less than 27-volts, a 36-volt battery system with less than 15-volts which will prevent many calls from your customers when they have over discharged the batteries.
  • After the over-night charge this Schauer charger goes into a float mode that can stay on your battery for months and will keep your battery charged but will not overcharge the battery. By not letting the batteries become completely discharged, you will not get, as much lead sulfur on the plates of the battery and this will result in a longer battery life. This is NOT a trickle charge. Our charger will only charge if your battery starts to draw 4-amps from the charger.
  • This charger is auto sensing and is rated at 115/230 at 50 or 60 cycle. You do not have to switch from one voltage to another. Just plug it in and it will work any where in the world.
  • Continuous - 100% duty cycle.
  • Low voltage start: will start charging a deeply discharged battery with terminal voltage less than 4 volts.
  • Reverse polarity and short circuit proof.
  • Aluminum case.
  • AC Input 115/230 volts, 50 or 60Hz Input voltage auto sensed.

If the power goes off our charger will start charging as soon as the power comes back on.

This being a constant current charger, this charger will charge your battery about 15% faster than a conventional automatic charger.

Can be set for any type lead acid battery, including conventional, maintenance free, deep cycle, gelled-type, valve regulated batteries.

Rain doesn't dampen spirits at Orphan Car Show

Wed, 28 Sep 2011

With rain falling as the show cars arrived, organizers worried that moving the 15th-annual Ypsilanti Orphan Car Show from its original June weekend to late September wasn't going to work out after all. It was rescheduled last year after heavy rain in June and participants voted to make the change permanent. Fortunately, the rain blew over before the gates opened to spectators and Sunday turned out to be as nice a day as Saturday, when more than 30 entrants enjoyed a tour to view the extensive Nash collection that Ken and Mary Ann Havekost have accumulated in Monroe, Mich.

Scrappage: US to get Cash for Clunkers

Wed, 10 Jun 2009

The US is to get their own Scrappage Scheme - Cash for Clunkers So even though our Scrappage Scheme is pretty flawed, it may well be having an impact – at least until the relatively modest amount set-aside for the scheme by the Government is exhausted. And now it’s the turn of the US to launch a Scrappage Schem – Cash for Clunkers. Cash for Clunkers legislation was passed yesterday in the US to try and kick-start US car sales, and give a boost to beleaguered car makers like GM and Chrysler.
