Stay warm and dry, whether hauling upwind, weathering stormy seas, or being at sea on a long night watch. Our rugged, comfortable foul weather gear is designed specifically for coastal cruising and racing.

100% waterproof and breathable, made of 100% Nylon with a microporous coating and a hydrophilic top coat that draws moisture away from the body, while keeping cold seawater out.

Unlined to speed up dry time and to reduce interlayer binding, and articulated and contoured to fit you well and reduce windage to allow freedom of movement, this gear is integral to your coastal adventures.

The jacket has an articulated and adjustable hood and hood pod, with a 6-1/4" back collar height and micro-fleece lining to keep you toasty and dry.

Adjustable closure systems for the hood, collar, cuffs and waistband are form-fitting and are reinforced at the seams to reduce wear.

Designed for coastal sailing, the nylon West Marine Navigator jacket and bibbed trousers are waterproof, windproof, and breathable.

The jacket has articulated arms for easy moving and is form-fitting to reduce windage. It is unlined, but according to the maker, that was intentional so dry times would be shorter.

The high-visibility, fluorescent hood has a brim, reflective patch, and an easy-adjust shock cord drawstring, but the peak lacks rigidity. The brushed-fleece collar is relatively tall, with the back reaching over 6 inches. A storm flap seals the neck.

The jacket is fitted with a YKK front zipper guarded by a flap for increased protection against the elements. There are two large cargo pockets with flaps and Velcro tab closures, two zippered hand-warmer pockets lined with fleece, and an interior zippered pocket. A drawstring at the waist adjusts easily and helps reduce windage.

The sleeves are outfitted with adjustable Dartex internal storm cuffs. The internal seals are secured by Velcro straps on the outside of the sleeves; these tended to loosen during field tests.

Velcro tabs on the Navigator jacket’s front zipper guard and cuffs.

Reflective patches on the hood and shoulders enhance safety, as does the reflective piping along the sleeves and on the back of the jacket.

The Navigator bibs are heavily stitched. The seat and knees are reinforced with 500D Cordura fabric to fight abrasion. The trousers held up well during the abrasion test.

Wide, elasticized shoulder straps ensure a comfortable fit and are easy to adjust by loosening and refastening the Velcro ends. There are no buckles or other closures to adjust.

The Navigator kit is an ideal solution for the sailor planning to cruise the coast in any weather.

Mon, 11 Nov 2013

Honda has announced its FCEV concept will be making its world debut at the upcoming Los Angeles auto show. The carmaker is remaining fairly tight-lipped about the concept, although it has released this artful render. Honda also says the FCEV concept previews a potential design direction for its next-generation fuel-cell electric vehicle (FCEV) launching in the U.S and Japan in 2015 and later in Europe.

Pontiac Solstice Coupe

Thu, 20 Mar 2008

By Liz Turner Motor Shows 20 March 2008 10:47 The Pontiac Solstice Coupe has a fairly simple brief in life. This is the car for anyone who likes the styling of the Roadster but doesn’t have the degree in origami needed to fold the flying buttresses and get the roof down. But the Solstice Coupe has a sunroof, so you can still get some wind in your hair.

Mazda6 (2010 / 2011) Facelift

Tue, 26 Jan 2010

Mazda has revealed the Mazda6 facelift for 2010 which will debut at Geneva in March Yesterday Mazda revealed the 2010 version of the Mazda6 in Japan, and we were just about to report on that when we had an email drop in to our inbox with details of the European version of the Mazda6 which will debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March. Maybe the Japanese car companies are finally working out that the Interweb reports Japanese launches when they happen so there’s no point procrastinating on details for the rest of the world? But whatever the reason we have official details of what the Mazda6 has in store for the UK this year. But don’t get too excited; it’s much more a facelift than a new car.
