UK motorway to charge moving electric cars
Tue, 15 Apr 2014The Highways Agency is set to test wireless charging in moving electric cars on a UK motorway, according to Engineering and Technology Magazine. This would see electric vehicles gain additional charge as they passed over wireless charging nodes embedded in the motorway’s road surface. On Bing: see pictures of wireless electric car charging Find out how much a used electric car costs on Auto Trader The concept, already used by some mobile phones and currently being trialled for static charging of electric cars, uses electromagnetic fields to pass current to batteries without the use of cables or wires.
Kia announces upcoming concept
Fri, 25 Jan 2013Kia will unveil an, as yet, unnamed concept car at the Geneva motor show this March. The concept, which the carmaker calls ‘provocative and racy', features a new take on Kia's signature tiger nose aesthetic that integrates the headlamps into the grille design in a narrow, full-width strip. The lamps themselves seem to be contructed of a pixelted, mesh-like light source.
Fiat 500 Coupe Zagato gets green light
Sat, 12 Mar 2011Fiat 500 Coupe Zagato to go in to production When we counted up the number of cars that appeared at the Geneva Motor Show this year it came to over 200. Not all the cars were new arrivals and many were a bit dull. But one we did miss was this rather appealing Concept Fiat 500 – the Fiat 500 Coupe Zagato – which is not just a Zagato take on the 500 but an entirely new Fiat 500 shape – the 500 Coupe.
