Amongst the kinky white boots and retro chandeliers Fiat rolled out their eco-loving theme across the whole range with three uncloakings: the fresh Fiorino, 500 Aria concept and Panda Aria prototype. The 500 Aria showcased a Euro 5 friendly 98g/km diesel 1.3 16v Multijet engine with a Stop&Start system (better for emissions, better for premature starter motor wear) and predominantly recycled interior materials.

It had seemed that the V12 Mercedes SL 65 AMG would be a victim of the culling of V12 engines from car makers’ ranges as the imperative to cut emissions and reduce fuel consumption saw the glorious V12s replaced by smaller forced-induction engines. But not at Mercedes-Benz.

The new Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line – a sportier cosmetic take on VW’s compact SUV come crossover – was actually revealed almost a year ago, but it’s take VW UK since then to get round to offering it in the UK.
