IMPORTANT NEWS .....  WE NOW CARRY THIS INSULATION IN BOTH 1/4" AND 1/2" THICK MATERIAL.  SELECT 'SEE OTHER ITEMS' TO SEE SEVERAL NEW INSULATION ITEMS AVAILABLE IN 2015.

Selling one (1) sheet, 4' x 6',  24 square feet of 1/4" thick fiberglass auto insulation with an aluminum foil backing.   This is your chance to get a very high quality commercial grade automotive insulation product at a price much less than sold in the retail market.  In fact our price is competitive with the 'bubble wrap' plastic type insulation.

We usually use 3m Super 77 Spray adhesive and install the fiberglass side to the panel being covered.

If you order more than one roll/piece we will ship one continuous length based on the number of rolls ordered, whenever possible.  This will allow you to cut the exact size you need with less waste.

Although Ebay is our current top selling site we also sell at car shows.

Our shipping is based on the weight of the insulation and your zip code.  We do not charge a handling fee!  If you order multiple rolls of our insulation the shipping will be combined based on the weight, so your 2nd, 3rd or whatever you order, will just be a couple of dollars more than the single roll so order what you think you will need the first time and save on the shipping.  We usually ship by UPS to keep the cost as low as possible.

SATISFACTION GUARANTEED !!

YOU WILL BE PLEASED WITH THIS PRODUCT OR WE WILL REFUND THE ENTIRE PURCHASE PRICE INCLUDING THE SHIPPING COST.

MIGHTY MATT tm

Mechanically bonded glass fiber insulation blanket of uniform density with excellent thermal and acoustical properties.

Superior performance in operating temperatures up to 1200ºF.

Although I knew from my own experience this product worked beyond my wildest dreams, many people have ask for the 'R' value and heat transfer numbers using this insulation.  This exact information was not available from the manufacturer so I made the following test and was amazed at how effective this insulation really is.   In one of my cars I recorded the temperature on the engine side of the firewall,  just behind the exhaust manifold to be 174 degrees while the temperature on the firewall at the same spot, inside the car was just 69 degrees.  The outside temp that day was 67 degrees.  Since this is only 2 degrees higher I assumed something was wrong with my testing equipment.  Next I used my wife's clothes iron.  Turning it as high as it would go, about 240 degrees, I placed the insulation about 1 inch from the iron and the temp just went up about 2 degrees.  Still not believing what I saw I placed a sheet of the insulation directly on the iron with my hand and was amazed to experience so little heat transfer that I could press the insulation hard against the iron without burning my hand.  I placed 2 sheets of the insulation on the iron and could not feel any heat.  Too good to be true?  This insulation is fantastic.

Let Q modify your Aston Martin

Tue, 01 Apr 2014

We imagine there were really two options for naming Aston Martin's new personalization program: Q, or something boring like Amalgamated Personalisation & Colour Programme, complete with British spellings that will vex most spell-checking software and render it unsearchable in Google. Fortunately, Aston Martin has wisely decided to adopt the same name as the Quartermaster in Ian Fleming's "James Bond" novels -- a pure coincidence, we're told. Lucky owners of these customized machines will be able to tell their friends that it was Q who added a few special touches to their cars.

New Jaguar XJC – the Coupe

Tue, 14 Jul 2009

Jaguar already has a new Jaguar XJC on the drawing board – a coupe version of the new Jaguar XJ The last Jaguar XJC was in the ’70s, and was built on the SWB version of the Series II Jaguar XJ.  In fact – by the time Jaguar got round to launching the XJC on to the market in 1975 – it was the only XJ that had the SWB, as all XJ saloons had moved over to the LWB as standard. A glorious-looking car – especially in ‘New Avengers’ guise as driven by Steed – it was plagued by the problems that beset British Leyland at the time.
