The splines are sharp, clean, and Not mashed or stripped. I opened the case to show the gear is new looking and not stripped mashed or galled. the grease also looks to be very clean, besides the heavily scuffed paint, this unit looks new from all other aspects, the stainless crown nut is not stripped or galled, the mount to body nut is nice AND it has a Leather washer gasket !!
I do not have a way to test this and do not want to cause any damage if possible by under powering it
Painting a new hammered finish is Easy and cheap, this still has numbers in yellow on the side that may be of further use they are:

Thu, 20 Aug 2009Tesla has released new images of the Tesla Roadster Sport as the order book opens But despite the hype on the Tesla Model S earlier in the year, the next model to arrive will be the Tesla Roadster Sport – a beefed up version of the current Roadster. And Tesla are ramping up the awareness by releasing the new pictures you see here. The Roadster Sport gets 15% more peak power that the standard Roadster, which should propel the little Roadster to 60 mph in around 3.7 seconds, which is no mean feat, despite the Roadster’s dinky dimensions.

Sharing its platform with the Fiat Grande Punto, styling is closer to the larger Astra with dynamic cab-forward proportions. Aided by the strong chin, an additional pane in the side-glass also enables a more forward-reaching profile - as chief designer Niels Loeb said "this is just what we wanted the coupe-like three-door Corsa to be." Inside, the IP neatly evolves themes from the outgoing model, with cues also shared with the new Antara SUV.
