Infiniti Etherea: Infiniti’s compact concept revealed in Geneva
Tue, 01 Mar 2011Infiniti Etherea Concept Despite our gripes that Infiniti seem half-hearted about their entry in to Europe – certainly in terms of their reluctance to get the product under people’s noses – we can’t argue they’re not developing their range to suit the European market. Good case in point is the introduction of diesel lumps across the range, although we find the new Infiniti M35h Hybrid potentially more appealing than the M30d (we’ve surprised ourselves there). And now we get a proper European-sized concept revealed in Geneva – the Infiniti Etherea Concept – which is a compact, pillarless, suicide door endowed 3-Series competitor with a 2.5 litre S/C lump connected to an electric motor and driven through a CVT ‘box.
Lexus NX (2014) first official pictures
Fri, 11 Apr 2014By Damion Smy First Official Pictures 11 April 2014 09:04 This is the production version of the Lexus NX compact crossover, which will sit below the Lexus RX in the Japanese brand’s line-up as it chases the BMW X3. Based on the Toyota RAV4, the NX features the Lexus spindle-grille up front but has lost the jagged styling that repulsed many when the concept car was shown at the 2013 Frankfurt show. The showroom edition has been toned down significantly, but still keeps the same stance and two-piece LED headlamps that ape the IS saloon’s face.
The future of headlamp techonology – see it on video
Wed, 27 May 2009By Richard Yarrow Motor Industry 27 May 2009 10:12 Cars of the future will drive at night with main-beam headlamps on all the time, but never dazzle another vehicle. That’s the vision of American component firm Gentex, which already makes the auto-dipping lights on the current BMW 7-series. Its engineers are working on a new technology called Dynamic Forward Lighting (DFL) which features a single main beam that floods the road with light.
