Racing granny wished for more speed

A 102-year-old woman said she was disappointed racing great Mario Andretti could not go faster than 180mph during their laps around a speedway track in Indianapolis. Edith Pittenger, of Muncie, said she had a great time riding with Andretti in a two-seat race car. "He said 180 is the maximum," she told the Star Press.

Toyota Matrix likely to be dropped

Toyota will roll out Tundra and Corolla redesigns next year and will revise the RAV4, Avalon and Highlander, but there are some things the division probably won't do. For example, there is a strong possibility that the Corolla-based Matrix hatchback will not be renewed for the United States when the Corolla redesign comes next fall. Ford put out a call to its 1.4 million Facebook fans with the question, “What should we call the Mustang V6 Performance package?” More than 3,000 submissions were made via Ford's Facebook page, and almost 6,700 users installed the “You Name It” app. The winning submission came from a fan in North Carolina, who won a three-year lease on the 2012 Ford Mustang V6.
