BMW Motorrad Concept 6 (2009) unveiled
Wed, 11 Nov 2009Yes, we know this BMW is a pair of wheels short of CAR Online’s usual offerings, but we couldn’t resist giving some space to this stunning straight six-powered BMW sports bike concept. Because if Toyota were to do the same in the UK, the plug-in Prius would have come in – after the taxpayer very generously chipped in a £5k subsidy for ‘eco’ cars – at a ‘buy’ price in the UK around £2.5k more than the non plug-in Prius.
Toyota to get BMW Diesel Engines, BMW to get Toyota Hybrid Technology
Mon, 28 Nov 2011BMW & Toyota in talks to share technology Toyota and BMW are reportedly in talks to share technology, with BMW getting access to Toyota’s hybrid expertise, and Toyota getting BMW diesel engines. A profitable future for car makers relies to a great extent on yielding the best return they can from their own products, and using the products of other car makers to augment their own range at sensible money. That imperative explains the report today that BMW and Toyota are in talks to exchange technology at which they excel; Toyota with hybrid technology and BMW with diesel engines.
