Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo Concept
Wed, 26 Sep 2012This is the Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo Concept – a Porsche Panamara Shooting Brake Hybrid – headed for a Paris 2012 debut. There have been rumours for some time that Porsche was going to build a shooting brake version of the Panamera -we reported it would be at Paris 2012 back in July – and on the eve of the Paris Motor Show we get the proof – the first photos of the Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo Concept. The Panamera Sport looks like it’s got some sort of hybrid powertrain, although we have no details yet from Porsche.
Self-driving Tesla could hit roads within three years
Tue, 01 Apr 2014Electric car manufacturer Tesla has said that self-driving cars could be a reality within the next three years, with the firm targeting a computer-guided version of its Model S saloon. Tesla chief executive officer Elon Musk said in an interview with the Financial Times that the autonomous driving technology would act like “an autopilot” that could be switched on and off like an aeroplane’s guidance system. Chris Bangle Associates announces 'Illustrate the Future' design competition
Mon, 16 Jan 2012Chris Bangle Associates has announced a new design contest called 'Illustrate the Future.' The competition is open to all design students across all design disciplines and coincides with the launch of Managing Director, Chris Bangle's new book. "I have written a fiction book about Car Design and the prologue takes place 25 years in the future," says Bangle. "It contains some concepts I have been working on, and this contest is to see what YOU would make of them." Bangle's novel explores the state of affairs in the car design field and also expresses his concerns about the culture future generations of designers will inherit.
