UK pays £30 million a month in parking fines
Sun, 29 Sep 2013British motorists are paying out a massive £30 million in parking fines every month, according to Freedom Of Information data obtained by LV= car insurance. So far in 2013, councils have handed out over 890,000 tickets a month – an increase of 4% on 2012 figures. The huge £30 million total is based on the UK average parking fine of £42.
Driving licence charges set to fall

The plans, which are to be consulted on, envisage drivers who apply online for their first driving licence would see the fee drop from £50 to £34. Drivers who renew their licence after 10 years would see the fee drop from £20 to £14.
BMW X1 US launch delayed – because the new X3 is so good

But times have changed and even Americans see the benefits of a (much) smaller SUV, so BMW was originally planning on launching the X1 in the US around now. That X1 launch got put back until later in 2011 because the Leipzig plant – which builds the X1 – was running at capacity to meet the demands from Europe.
