Fri, 14 Jun 2013VW has built its 30 millionth Golf. The milestone car, a Mk7 TDI Bluemotion model, rolled off the Wolfsburg production line today (14 June 2013) and will be displayed at the factory’s open day to celebrate. On average, 2000 Golfs have been sold worldwide every day since its 1974, according to VW’s maths. Volvo C70 Inscription to debut at L.A. Motor Show
Tue, 08 Nov 2011Volvo C70 Inscription We know that the Volvo C70 – Volvo’s four-seat, tin-top convertible – is not long for this world, so perhaps the news that there’s to be a limited edition C70 – the C70 Inscription – bowing in at the LA Motor Show is the C70′s swansong. Volvo are keen to point out that the C70 was the world’s first four seat convertible with a three piece folding metal roof as standard, which made the C70 a proper all year round convertible; open-topped motoring when the weather permits, and all the joys of a coupe when the skies darken. The C70 Inscription is to be limited to just 2,000 cars worldwide, and you can grab one of those coming to the UK from £33,855 for the D3 SE Inscription.
Ferrari celebrates 8 million Facebook Fans with a 458 burnout
Thu, 03 May 2012Ferrari Facebook 8 Million Video More celebrations by car makers hitting social media milestones, this time Ferrari celebrates 8 million Facebook fans with a 458 burnout. We do wonder how long the latest car maker PR stunt of celebrating social media milestones will continue, but if it gets coverage – like this – the answer is probably that it won’t stop – ever. Yesterday we had AMG celebrating a rather small 2 million YouTube views with a blat in a C 63 AMG Coupe round Laguna Seca, and today we get treated to a Ferrari 458 Italia strutting its stuff to celebrate a far more significant 8 million Facebook Fans (or should that now be Facebook ‘Likes’?).
