BMW Concept 6-series Coupé (2010) first photos
Sat, 18 Sep 2010By Tim Pollard First Official Pictures 18 September 2010 23:00 BMW today unveils the new 2011 6-series – albeit in lightly disguised concept car form. The new BMW Concept 6-series Coupé (2010) will form the centrespiece at the 2010 Paris motor show.Forget the 'concept' tag in the name: this is the real 6-series, near as damn it. It's a 2+2 coupé, although Munich will launch the 6-series convertible (F12) first in March 2011; the 6-series coupé (F13) based on this two-door arrives in September 2011.Which 6-series models are coming?Expect 640i and 650i petrol 6-series, while the diesel Six gets upgraded to a 640d.
Freelander 2 hits 200,000
Sun, 23 May 2010Land Rover Freelander 2 - 200,000 built The original Freelander was, for a car that was pretty much cobbled together from the Rover parts bin, a remarkable success. Sadly, it wasn’t a remarkable car, particularly with the K Series engine many Freelanders had succumbing to head gasket failures. It could have been so different.
Cannonball Run seminar at Amelia Island was one for the ages
Mon, 21 Mar 2011I don't think I've been to a bad car show, and that includes the local Kamaro Klub in the Dairy Queen parking lot. But I tend to judge the shows by the afterglow--how much you remember a day or two after the event. I tend to remember a lot after every Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance, and that is mostly because the founder, Bill Warner, uses his annual North Florida show to do exactly what you and I would do if we ran a big show--invite our heroes to come talk and invite the cars we'd like to look at ourselves.
