UK car sales reach six-year high
Tue, 07 Jan 2014Ford New car sales have reached their highest level since 2007, says the Society for Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT). Figures for 2013 show an increase in registrations of 10.8% compared with the previous year, to 2,264,737 - most of which was driven by growth in the private car market. Toyoto Aygo goes Black and Blue
Mon, 02 Feb 2009The Aygo was launched back in 2005, as a sub-Yaris city car, and has carved a justifiably successful niche for itself across Europe, selling more than 100,000 in the process. As with all Toyotas it’s well built, and is actually a pretty nimble car with fun driving dynamics. Toyota Aygo updated for 2009 with new additions - The Toyota Aygo Black and The Toyota Aygo Blue The 2009 Aygo gets a few tweaks to improve fuel economy and emissions (now 106g/km) and a few body tweaks, including a re-sculpted nose.
Fuel Injection Pioneer Stuart Hilborn 1917-2013
Mon, 16 Dec 2013Stuart Hilborn, the dry lakes hot rodder whose racing fuel injection systems powered almost the entire field at Indianapolis some years, died Monday at the age of 96. Hilborn first went to the dry lakes in 1938 and was amazed to see engine builders and racers who hadn't gone to college producing twice the horsepower of a stock setup. “I was very impressed that they had doubled the horsepower of the cars as they came out of Detroit with virtually no money at all, just work,” Hilborn told the American Hot Rod Foundation.
