Volvo V40 Cross Country & V40 R-Design: Paris 2012
Fri, 28 Sep 2012Volvo has revealed the V40 Cross Country and V40 R-Design at the 2012 Paris Motor Show, and both are convincing. The sporty take on the new V40 is the V40 R-design, a cosmetic update for the already good-looking V40 that manages to bolt on go-faster bits without wrecking the good lines of the normal V40. We would like to have seen the Volvo V40 R-Design get the sports suspension as standard, but Volvo obviously feel that most R-Design buyers want the looks rather than the more dynamic ride the sports suspension offers, so it stays as an option. And as the R-Design option is available across the new V40 range – from the D2 to the T4 – it’s probably the right decision.
Vauxhall Corsa VXR (2007): first official pictures
Wed, 03 Jan 2007By Tim Pollard First Official Pictures 03 January 2007 00:01 Vauxhall Corsa VXR: the lowdown Vauxhall will unleash its hottest-ever supermini in March: the 190bhp Corsa VXR. In keeping with the UK-only VXR branding, the hot hatch will be spruced up with a butch bodykit, a series of chassis tweaks and a turbocharged version of Vauxhall's 1.6-litre engine. Vauxhall's previous sporting superminis have left us lukewarm, but this latest one promises some fireworks in the engine department: the company quotes 0-62mph in just 6.8sec, and it tops out at 140mph.
See what Milwaukee uses for road de-icing
Mon, 30 Dec 2013There are a few different ways to make icy roads drivable, including spreading sand and salt on them. Here in Detroit, we use tons and tons (and tons) of rock salt on our crumbling roads in part because we're sitting on unbelievably massive salt deposits. Wisconsin is sitting on massive deposits, too -- of cheese brine.
