The Saab 9-5 revealed at Frankfurt In the flesh the new 9-5 is impresive. Stylish – without being a parody of Saabs gone by – and exuding a feeling of quality and thoughtful design. It’s not cluttered with design whimsies, but a clean and very focused shape shouts ‘Class’.

Renault Clio

This is the new, fourth-generation Renault Clio and the first production car to feature the brand's new design language under Laurens van den Acker. Its grille and lamp graphics are a clear relation to the Dezir concept first shown in Paris 2010, while the rear feature lines and lamps have shades of the Captur concept. The new Clio will only be available in five-door format although its rear door handles are hidden in its C-pillars.

Holidaymakers warned against bogus hire car

AHEAD OF THE busy holiday period a warning has been issued to those travelling abroad to look out for car hire rental scams. The industry body British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association has advised customers to be wary of 'too good to be true' offers over the Christmas period, including very low rates and nationwide availability right up to Christmas Day. But the BVRLA is aware of many customers who have handed over deposits for cars that are never delivered, leaving them out of pocket and with no transport.
