Car Design of the Year winners awarded at Car Design Night Geneva 2013
Mon, 11 Mar 2013The winners of the 2012 Car Design of the Year Awards, as voted for by Car Design News readers, were announced at the annual Car Design Night at By Pass nightclub on the evening of the first Geneva motor show press day. Over 350 car designers were in attendance to catch up with their colleagues and meet new peers at the first European show of the year. Car Design News' editor, Owen Ready, presented the winners of the annual Car Design of the Year Awards.
Infiniti Q50 teased ahead of Detroit debut
Sat, 29 Dec 2012The first Infiniti to carry the new nomenclature for the marque – the Infiniti Q50 – gets teased in a short video ahead of a Detroit debut. We managed to break the news that the new Infiniti G37 would be arriving at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show back in October, but what we didn’t know then was that it would be getting a new name. The new Infiniti G Series cars will now be the Infiniti Q50 as Infiniti change their car names (for reasons only Infiniti understand) to be prefixed by ‘QX’ for anything resembling a crossover and just ‘Q’ for anything that’s not.
Toyota to get BMW Diesel Engines, BMW to get Toyota Hybrid Technology

A profitable future for car makers relies to a great extent on yielding the best return they can from their own products, and using the products of other car makers to augment their own range at sensible money. That imperative explains the report today that BMW and Toyota are in talks to exchange technology at which they excel; Toyota with hybrid technology and BMW with diesel engines.
