Porsche 918 Spyder microsite goes live
Tue, 25 Jun 2013Porsche is entering the hybrid-hypercar market this fall with its pretty 918 Spyder. BMW boss tells the truth about electric cars. And then has to apologise for doing so.
Sun, 01 May 2011BMW US CEO Jim O'Donnell - "EVs won't work for more than 90% of drivers" Really, you do have to ask what kind of barking mad world we live in when the boss of a car company is forced to apologise for telling the truth, simply because it upsets a vocal minority (and his bosses, no doubt) We’ve been banging on for years about how useless electric cars are as a replacement for the internal combustion engine, and how they are really only viable as inner-city runarounds and as toys for the better-off. Even then, electric cars have their problems. As inner-city cars EVs certainly do the local environment a favour by transferring emissions to the point of electricity generation instead of the point of use.
Nissan to build sporty crossover in the UK
Tue, 03 Jun 2008By Ben Pulman First Official Pictures 03 June 2008 10:33 Nissan has announced it will build an all-new car in the UK from 2010, and released a sketch to whet our appetites. The model is an addition to Nissan’s current range and is described as an ‘innovative all-new compact car’. The new car is expected to be a crossover model, with Nissan previously having stated it wishes to expand its line-up beyond Qashqai, Qashqai+2 and the forthcoming Murano.
