General Motors is looking at ways to double or triple Volt production

Senate passes cash-for-clunkers extension

The bill, identical to the one that passed the House last week, now goes to President Barack Obama for his signature. The administration has pushed hard for the new funding.

It seemed an odd route for the revived De Tomaso to go, and an odd choice of name. The Deauville seems to be halfway between the (poor-selling) BMW 5-Series GT and a Porsche Cayenne.
