Autostyle Design Competition 2013: The Results
Thu, 10 Oct 2013The results of the tenth annual Autostyle 2013 design competition are in, with three Italian and two French design students earning this year's top plaudits. The contest challenged students from eight schools from around the world to create a custom vehicle from a Citroën Revolte concept, Suzuki SX4, Audi Crosslane, Land Rover Defender DC100 concept or Maserati Ghibli. The schools involved were: Creapole; Istituto Europeo di Design (IED); Institut Supérieur du Design (ISD); Istituto Superiore Scienza dell'Automobile di Modena (ISSAM); Politecnico di Milano; Royal College of Art; Strate College; and Umeå University of Design.
SRT Viper combines Time Attack package with Anodized Carbon look

Just 50 examples of the of the SRT Viper Anodized Carbon Special Edition package will be made, with just 10 models carrying the Time Attack Group package. Like a number of special editions from Chrysler, this model emerged due to customer demand, with Chrysler taking the functional chassis and aerodynamic parts from the Viper Time Attack Special Edition and making them available in the GTS price class.
Volvo celebrates the seatbelt’s golden anniversary

It was patented by Volvo engineer Nils Bohlin in 1959, but the Swedes magnanimously opened up the tech to other car makers as they saw the real-world safety benefit of seatbelts in all cars. The design was so effective that in Germany the patent registrars listed it in the top eight inventions which have made an impact from 1885 to 1985.
