Lexus plans to introduce hybrid versions of existing vehicles with each full model change, the brand's r&d chief says. Last year's Camaro coupe has already been given the nod for sales in two years' time, and this soft-top will join the stable later in 2009. The size is identical to the coupe, but the - bright chromed - windscreen mounting is slightly different to accommodate the hood.

Opel product chief Weber quits to take job with yet-unnamed rival

Frank Weber, the German-born engineer who helped lead development of the Chevrolet Volt and Opel Ampera hybrids, is leaving General Motors' Opel unit to work for an as-yet unnamed competitor. Weber has been Opel's product chief since November 2009. His departure was reported Thursday by Automotive News Europe and confirmed by company sources.
