Fiat-based Ladas and Russian-born Volgas were the cars of the day, and our friends at Retronaut have gathered some press materials and advertisements for the compact sedans. Lada was named after a famous Czech manufacturer of sewing machines in the 1960s.
Kia four-door sports sedan concept
Fri, 19 Aug 2011Kia isn't giving much away about its Frankfurt-bound concept car, indeed it hasn't even released its name yet, referring to it as the 'four-door sports sedan concept.' The press release talks of it as 'signalling a distinctive new design direction' for the Korean brand, yet the now-familiar 'tiger-nose' grille and Optima-esque A-pillar/cant rail/C-pillar highlight are very much in evidence. "No matter from which perspective you look at it - this concept car is roaring with energy and ready for take-off," says Peter Schreyer, Kia Motors Chief Design Officer."I believe the car is a strong statement from Kia: we are ready to fast forward to an all new chapter." 'Teach children to drive' says insurer
Tue, 15 Jul 2014BRITISH children should be taught how to drive at school to help reduce road deaths and serious injury among young drivers. Insurer Flexed says we should follow the example of schools in the USA and introduce driver education lessons. These classes will teach basic driving skills, road etiquette and safety, which will improve awareness and also help with improving driving test exam results.
