Disabled motorsport marshal sets new mobility scooter record

A DISABLED motorsport marshal who lost a leg in a terrible accident at the 2000 Goodwood Festival of Speed has set a new world record – on a mobility scooter with punctured tyres. Steve Tarrant, who made a determined recovery and continues to marshal at national and international levels, returned to a dedicated course at Goodwood for the gruelling record attempt in aid of a cancer charity. His effort, after 24 hours and stops only for battery changes on his TGA Breeze S4 GT mobility scooter, he smashed the previous record of 170.63 miles by almost 20, clocking up 190.2 miles.

The Mercedes B-Class Fuel Cell cars arrive back in Stuttgart Since January Mercedes has been driving round the world with a trio of hydrogen fuel cell cars to demonstrate that the future is all about hydrogen fuel cells, and not about hybrids or BEVs. In the four months since the three Mercedes B-Class Fuel Cell cars left home in Stuttgart at the end of January, they have covered 30,000 km each (that’s around 18.6k miles) and had zero emissions. Most smokers want ban in cars

NINE OUT of 10 (89%) of smokers say lighting up a cigarette or any form of tobacco should be banned in cars. Following on from the Welsh government’s announcement that it would outlaw smoking in cars where there are children as passengers, a study shows evens smokers think puffing on a cigarette in a car is not acceptable. Research carried out by Flexed shows 89% of smokers support a complete ban and 96% of non-smokers believe smoking in cars should be outlawed.
