Porsche approves the Cajun, a junior 4x4

Mon, 29 Nov 2010

Porsche's supervisory board today confirmed it would build the Cajun, a junior SUV to slot beneath the Cayenne in its range. The announcement from Stuttgart confirmed the 'working name' Cajun and said the new model would increase growth. Critics will surely say that the Cajun represents yet another move away from Porsche's sports car roots, but don't forget the effect that Cayenne sales have had on the company's balance sheets.

BMW Concept X6 (2007): first official pictures

Tue, 11 Sep 2007

By Phil McNamara First Official Pictures 11 September 2007 08:00 BMW X6: the lowdown No, X6 is not a typo but the third X model in the BMW’s 4x4 range. BMW kicked off the Frankfurt show today (Tuesday 11 September) by unveiling two coupes spun off existing models. The 1-series coupe is a two-door notchback version of the baby BMW, but the X6 – an X5 SUV with a melted rear end – was the show-stopper.

Monterey in a Mulsanne – a Bentley mission to Pebble Beach

Fri, 16 Aug 2013

After a ten-and-a-half-hour flight from London, the idea of steering headlong – and solo – into the early Los Angeles rush-hour traffic in a five-and-a-half-metre-long, left-hand drive Bentley Mulsanne (worth some £230,000 with extras) and on the other side of the road to which I am familiar, might seem a little daunting. But as soon as I sink into the super saloon’s big leather seats, Bluetooth my iPhone to stream some music via the Naim premium audio, turn up the air-conditioning and press the accelerator gently, all becomes well. LAX Airport may be my starting point but the final destination is the Monterey Peninsula towards San Francisco, some 400 miles northward, for the world-famous annual classic car show Pebble Beach.
