Land Rover has now confirmed officially that it'll launch a successor to the Defender in 2015, and the DC100 provides plenty of clues to what we could expect. And this – the Volvo V60 Diesel Plug-in Hybrid – is one that should definitely have made it in to our coverage earlier. We’re not big fans of the hybrid route – especially in small cars – but when it’s used to produce a car that is more economical and more powerful, we start to get it.
Trains cancelled over broken-down taxi
Fri, 14 Mar 2014TRAINS were cancelled after a taxi carrying the ticket conductors broke down on the way to the station - and health and safety policy bans them walking. London Midland yesterday told passengers it was cancelling two of its services from Birmingham New Street station in the city centre after the breakdown happened during what is usually a short journey by foot from nearby Snow Hill station. However, the rail operator has said its own safety policy bars the uniformed conductors from getting to the station on foot because they are carrying their ticket machines and cash from the days' takings.
