Tesla can swap the batteries on a Model S in just 90 seconds The Tesla Model S was built from the start to offer battery swap as an alternative to a recharge. And now it’s become a reality. When Better Place revealed their plans – in conjunction with Renault – to offer Battery Swap technology we applauded it as a sensible way to make electric cars a more sensible mainstream option.

NLV Quant – née Koenigsegg Quant – at Geneva

The Quant - back at Geneva as the NLV Quant Last week we ran a story on Koenigsegg taking somethig new to Geneva after we’d had a chat with them. But part of that story was on last year’s Koenigsegg Quant, a four-seat electric supercar we saw at Geneva 2009. At the time it was billed as a Koenigsegg Quant (although, as Koenigsegg pointed out to us, it was always a commission project) but now it’s set to return to Geneva 2010 as the NLV Quant.

Koenigsegg can take the P1, LaFerrari & Huayra with the Agera R

Koenigsegg believe that the Agera R has more than the measure of the new toys at Geneva – LaFerrari and McLaren P1 – and Pagani’s Huayra lap at Top Gear was a farce. But a car that was also at Geneva was the Koenigsegg Hundra, Koenigsegg’s one-off special to celebrate 100 Koenigseggs built since Christian von Koenigsegg started bolted his immense supercars together in a shed in Sweden a decade ago. So we thought it would be interesting to chat to Koenigsegg people – including Koenigsegg’s UK dealer Supervettura –  and get their thoughts on the new batch of supercars that could perhaps take some gloss off the offerings from Koenigsegg.
