Saab to get BMW turbocharged engines in 2012

Saab Automobile and BMW AG announced an agreement Wednesday that will supply engines for Saab's next-generation 9-3. Under the agreement, BMW will provide Saab with four-cylinder 1.6-liter turbocharged gasoline engines starting in 2012. The engines will be adapted to meet Saab's specific requirements.

Just to the north of the Detroit Show, there’s another motor show going on in Montreal, not that anyone expected anything of much interest to appear at the much smaller Montreal Motor Show. Suzuki Q concept

The second of Suzuki's concept trio is the Q, whch is designed for the inner-city commuter. The highly stylized all-electric quadracycle is powered by an electric motor and battery pack, the Q has a range of 50km and a top speed of just 37mph. The Q is aimed at those with a short commute, described as being "ideal for everyday journeys within a radius of about six miles" and, as such, is pitched as a comfortable commuting tool.
