It's starting to look as if the baby Volvo Crossover - the XC30 - is getting close The rumour mill has been working on a smaller crossover/SUV from Volvo for a long time – since just about the time that the Volvo C30 first hit the road. So it’s not any sort of surprise to see the rumour resurface, but we’re a bit peeved to have missed (until now) the comment that’s being attributed to Lex Kerssemakers – Volvo’s Overseas Corporate Strategy President – from Geneva when he apparently said “There will be some further expansion of the XC range in the near future”.

Opel has released pictures of the new Corsa, which will make its debut in July at the British Motor Show. Sharing its platform with the Fiat Grande Punto, styling is closer to the larger Astra with dynamic cab-forward proportions. Aided by the strong chin, an additional pane in the side-glass also enables a more forward-reaching profile - as chief designer Niels Loeb said "this is just what we wanted the coupe-like three-door Corsa to be." Inside, the IP neatly evolves themes from the outgoing model, with cues also shared with the new Antara SUV.

GT Academy winner Heitkotter's next step is the 24 Hours of Dubai

It all culminates in January at the 24 Hours of Dubai: That's when video-game player and GT Academy winner Bryan Heitkotter will race, professionally, with European GT Academy winner Jann Mardenborough in a Nissan 370Z. The GT Academy was a contest that started last December in which Gran Turismo 5 players competed for a seat in a real race car. Thousands entered, 32 players rose to the top, and 16 of those were invited to a seven-day whirlwind racing and evaluation program at the Silverstone circuit in the United Kingdom.
